The Mt Charlestion Volunteer Fire Department is one of the network of volunteer departments surrounding the Las Vegas Valley and part of the Clark County Fire Department. These Volunteers work alongside a full time crew from the Nevada Division of Forestry that has a station across the street from station 81. The two stations provide structural suppression, EMS, and wildland firefighting in the Mt Charleston area along with support to surrounding commuinities. TecResQ provided operational level refresher training to the firefighters and first responders within this jurisdiction.
23 Alabama fire departments and instructors that came from "coast to coast" joined up at Childrens Harbor on the shores of Lake Martin to participate in extrication training. This training seminar focused on scenario based evolutions and lectures presenting the latest information on occupant protection devices and high strength steels. All proceeds from the event benifited Childrens Harbor and the children they support.
Heavy Rescue Units from the Henderson Fire Department, Clark County Fire Department, and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue met to train on a donated school bus and an over the road touring bus. This training hosted by Henderson Fire Department allowed Heavy units that cover the Las Vegas Valley to train together on advanced extrication and stabilization techniques. | ||||||||||||||
